Now for some fun Bach&Brews trivia: Did you know the melody for the Bach chorale "O Sacred Head Now Wounded" was based on a drinking song? The chorale, which Bach incorporated into his St. Matthew Passion, was adapted from a secular love song written by Hans Leo Hassler and reportedly sung in taverns around the 1600s!
