"The Waiting Room" - A Not-To-Be Missed Experience
Caught a performance of "The Waiting Room,"a theatrical dance performance last evening conceived and choreographed by Beth Corning, an artist with impressive credentials and a resume loaded with experience. The work uses incredibly captivating music, stunning videography, ethereal movement, expressive choreography and stimulating images that challenge the viewer with their dream-like quality.
Built around the concept of a Jewish religious custom of having a Shomer guard the deceased throughout the night, the performance takes the audience to a novel place where time and space are skewed. The result is a unique experience, a visit to an alien world where the rules of reason give way to memory, feeling and emotion.
"The Waiting Room" is at the New Hazlett Theater on Pittsburgh's North Side for four more performances, tonight through Sunday, September 9. For tickets and more information, go to https://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/3515029
